Kids Defend New York: a Purim Carnival

East Midwood Jewish Center  1625 Ocean Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11230

Description

Purim is coming! Kids, youth, parents, stewards of the resistance, lovers of delirious fun, dreamers of new worlds, and everyone else: we can’t wait to see you for the visual and musical spectacular of the season!

Kids are experts on what is fair - and the city’s back-room deal with Amazon wasn’t it. Kids helped a powerful grassroots movement boot Amazon out of Queens, and now it’s time to THROW A PARTY!

Join us for a wild, visionary Purim spectacle; games and activities to help us dream together; and a raucous klezmer band. What would YOUR family do with the city’s now vanquished $5 billion giveaway to Amazon? Make a park? Invent flying bikes? Build a giant roller coaster that throws free cotton candy? Maybe all of the above? Let’s dream it at the carnival! Come dressed in your best costume for defending NYC!

No one turned away for lack of cash or costume. Hamentaschen and water included in admission! Additional food will be available for purchase. EMJC is a kosher space and any outside food must be kosher.

Sliding scale $5-$15 per person.

The Purim Carnival is brought to you by:

The Aftselakhis Spectacle Committee
Jews for Racial & Economic Justice
Malkhut
The Workmen’s Circle
Kolot Chayeinu/Voices of Our Lives.
